Leavenworth Christmas Festival
Each weekend in December, Leavenworth, a Bavarian-style village in Washington, hosts a Christmas festival. The festival includes a tree lighting, live music, and appearances from Santa and Mrs. Clause.
Winter Feast Holiday Bazaar
This special edition of the Fremont Sunday Market features a craft market with holiday goods and food trucks serving festive food. The event is free and begins at 10 a.m. on Dec. 16.
Bellevue Square turns into a winter wonderland every evening until Christmas Eve. This nightly parade has dancers, characters, live bands and always ends in a snowstorm. Parades nightly at 7 p.m.
Handmade Holiday Market at Second Use
This indoor market takes recycling to a whole new level. Vendors display their crafts, all of which have been repurposed. The market is free and begins at 10 a.m. on Dec. 8.

A Christmas Carol
This classic Charles Dickens play is being performed by local actors at ACT in downtown Seattle. Shows run now through Dec. 28 and tickets start at $26.
Visit the Bellevue Botanical Gardens to see hundreds of festive light installations. Event is open from 4:30 to 9 p.m. from now until Dec. 30. Check online for the dates of Free Nights; otherwise tickets are $5 per person.
Art Under $100
South Park Arts presents “Art Under $100” at the Seattle Design Center. This arts market showcases local artists (roster available online) all selling affordable art. The market takes place on Dec. 8 from 2 to 8 p.m. and admission is free.
